Look at that sudden jump from 85 to 222 deaths in one day!
Let’s say 200 people were in ICU on ventilators on 3/24 and 62 died.
62 available ventilators on 3/25 and 80 new patients.
218 being used now.
Why does New York City have 15,000 ventilators when they are only using 218?
Because this hospital has 800 more in storage.
Why? Because on 3/27 450 new patients showed up.
Why 15,000 in New York City?
More than one hospital – no time to take a ventilator from one to the other to help some – that would be too late!
How many new patients show up on 3/28? 3/29? 3/30?
You can not just shuffle ventilators from Utica to Syracuse or Buffalo to Albany.
A patient can not wait for it to get from one place to another!
PEOPLE WILL DIE!
You can not order a ventilator when you need them! They have to be there!
