Human Transmission Of New Coronavirus May Be Occuring; Ebola Outbreak Stabilizes
“The three men were all believed to have contracted the disease from working at the seafood market, Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, a commission expert from Hong Kong, was quoted saying at a press conference Wednesday morning in the South China Morning Post. However, the wife with a confirmed case of the 2019-nCoV infection had not recently visited the market where her husband worked as a trader, according to a statement by Wuhan authorities (translated from the Chinese). Chuang Shuk-kwan said this could suggest “limited” human-to-human transmission of the virus is occurring.
In Geneva, a WHO official expressed similar concerns: “From the information that we have, it is possible that there is limited human-to-human transmission, especially among families who have close contact with one another,” Maria Van Kerkhove, acting head of WHO’s Emerging Diseases Unit, told journalists at a briefing.

Trump reportedly threatened to fire a top doctor at the CDC for sounding the alarm about the coronavirus in February
Trump was on a state visit to India when Messonnier, the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC, publicly sounded the alarm about the severity of the coronavirus outbreak in a February 26 press conference, saying that the outbreak would soon become a pandemic.
“It’s not so much a question of if this will happen anymore but rather more a question of exactly when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illness,” Messonnier said.
The Times reported that Trump spent the plane ride stewing in anger over both Messonnier’s comments and the resulting plummet of the stock market. He called Azar “raging that Dr. Messonnier had scared people unnecessarily,” The Times said.
Trump also threatened to fire her from the CDC altogether, according to The Journal.
That day, Azar tried to fix some of the damage by giving a follow-up press conference, but Trump was still incensed.
While Trump did not end up firing Messonnier, The Times reported that the entire episode effectively ended any efforts to persuade Trump to take decisive action to mitigate the virus’ spread and led to Azar being sidelined in favor of Vice President Mike Pence.

It is very possible to overestimate the number of lives saved by that NON momentous decision by President Trump on January 31. The real chronology is going to be people losing loved ones from the lack of ventilators, masks and PPE and the last thing they will have on their mind after that will be their MAGA hat. If only Trump had invoked DPA on January 31? Historians will be asking that question for years!
By the way, you never showed where Joe Biden was mocking the danger of the virus!
You glossed right over the fact that until March 14th no one was being screened for the virus when they were arriving home at airports from overseas and what a brutally bad fiasco that day was when it finally occurred to Trump that his lie of saying people were being screen was being revealed as a lie on twitter and media reports so he decided to do it.
