I don’t have a law degree but I have studied the US Constitution since I was 8 years old or so. Straight A’s in Political Science in College. 180 on my US Government/PS Praxis Test. Did you read this Northwestern Law School?
“The nation is transfixed by the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump for purportedly using U.S. military aid to Ukraine to prompt that country to reopen a corruption into former Vice President Joe Biden’s son. What no one is focusing on is the fact that the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives is violating the president’s constitutional rights. The House majority is thus itself acting unconstitutionally and is seriously abusing its power.”

How is the House of Representatives violating the president’s constitutional rights? How is the House Majority acting unconstitutionally? Abusing its power?
Impeachment
“Impeachment is a legal proceeding, and just as criminal defendants have constitutional rights in criminal trials so too does Trump have constitutional rights, which House Democrats are denying him. For example, the Sixth Amendment gives criminal defendants the right to “a speedy and public trial.” House Democrats are trying Trump in secret and are denying him the right to a public proceeding.”

Impeachment is NOT a CRIMINAL trial! Jail time is not a punishment. Removal from office is. The Bill of Rights is in place to protect people (all people, not just citizens) in our country FROM our country. Impeachment is Government vs Government. I explain all of that in the above annotations. Closed investigations are not trials. Think Grand Jury! (The writer is a law professor?)

Repeating something that is not true or based on facts does not suddenly make it factual. The Sixth Amendment DOES NOT APPLY to Impeachment! Impeachment is NOT a CRIMINAL trial (I am repeating myself) Trump wil be informed when the Articles of Impeachment are WRITTEN. No where in the House or Senate Rules of impeachment or the US Constitution are the words “Due Process” or “Prison for Impeachment”

The president has a right under current Supreme Court case law to have a public face-to-face confrontation with the witnesses against and to testify in his own defense. Please cite the current Supreme Court case law and explain how it is germane to Impeachment. Again, for the third? time, the 6th Amendment does not apply to Impeachment.

The fourth or fifth mention of the irrelevant 6th Amendment? Being a big deal is NO reason not to do something. Extorting a foreign leader and bribing a foreign leader is also a big deal.

Is every paragraph going to contain the 6th Amendment? Remove the 6th Amendent (that does not apply) and this ‘paper’ no longer exists. Kafkaesque trial? The Senate hold the Trial in the Impeachment process. We are in the Grand Jury Phase (if this was a criminal process, it isn’t, thus no 6th Amendment protections). Leaders expelled? For doing their job? “Punish” House Democrats? Elect a Republican House Majority? We are getting to the jist of this paper. Spread disinformation to the Trump Base because Truth and Facts no Longer win elections for what used to be My GOP.

The lawful, constitutional actions of the US House of Representatives should not be dropped and Articles of Impeachment have to be drawn up because we need a Primary Source, the Senate Vote, for future generations once all of the facts on Donald Trump are known.
