DOJ: FBI informant said Russian intelligence involved in Hunter Biden story

“The FBI confidential source charged last week for allegedly providing false information about President Biden and his son Hunter Biden implicated Russian intervention, per court documents filed Tuesday.

The big picture: Alexander Smirnov, 43, admitted that “officials associated with Russian intelligence” were involved in passing a story about Hunter Biden, per the government’s memorandum in support of his detention.

  • Prosecutors alleged in the filing that Smirnov told an FBI handler that the Russian Intelligence Service intercepted several cellphone calls placed at a hotel “by prominent U.S. persons the Russian government may use as ‘kompromat’ in the 2024 election.””

Donald Trump Admits He Received Money From China While President

“Donald Trump admitted he did receive money from foreign governments such as China while he was president, as his business was providing a “service” for them.

The report accused Trump of violating the U.S. Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause, which prohibits federal officials from accepting money or gifts from foreign governments without permission from Congress, after overseas officials stayed in his real estate company’s hotels and apartments during his time in the White House.

The January 4 report alleged that four businesses owned by Trump received around $7.8 million from 20 countries during his time in office, including at least $5.5 million from China, during his first two years as president. The report was released amid House Republicans‘ attempts to impeach President Joe Biden over allegations he benefited from his son Hunter Biden‘s foreign dealings while in office, despite no evidence to back up the claims.”

Trump received at least $7.8 million in payments from foreign governments as president, House Democrats say

“Democrats on the House Oversight Committee obtained information about the payments during two of the four years Trump served as president.”

Report: Jared Kushner’s $2 Billion Saudi Check Appears Even More Comically Corrupt Than Previously Thought

“Back in April, The New York Times reported that Jared Kushner’s four years of Saudi ass-kissing and murder-excusing had paid off in the form of a $2 billion investment from the kingdom‘s sovereign wealth fund to his newly formed private equity firm. That struck a lot of people—ethics officials among them—as pretty shady given that far from having impressed would-be clients with his investing prowess, the panel that performs due diligence for the Saudi fund concluded that no one in their right mind would give the former first son-in-law a dime.”
