An old friend of mine dared me to go to the Border and see for myself. My sister told me to take a break from taking care of Mom. (We lost her July 6, 2019), https://limbaugh2020.com/mom/ She said she would take care of Mom for a while. I decided to do some things on my bucket list.
June 28, 2019 – The trip got off to a bad start. I had Tweeted and Facebooked to my friends how I had a car reserved with Enterprise and three friends warned me to be sure and check that I HAD a car, they had reserved cars with Enterprise and when it came time to get in, they had no car available. I called the local Enterprise office the afternoon before they were going to come get me, verifying the car I had waiting for me. Guess what! They said my car was ready to go and promised to pick me up at 9:00am – the next morning at 8:30am they called to let me know they didn’t have any cars available and it might be 4:00pm or later before they do. I will never use Enterprise again – or Avis and Budget – you will find out why later in my story. Speaking of Avis/Budget – they had a car available! (I didn’t want to drive my 6-Speed Civic SI all over America – LOL!) I was on my way!

My friends say the day I prove LBJ was involved with JFK assassination is the day I ‘disappear’. After my best friend since we were born moved when we were 12, a nice K9 policeman moved in and told me about the two caskets, one metal with thumb screws, one ornamental wood one. I never thought more about it until I was in a restaurant in Holland with my wife and friends and someone mentioned the anniversary of JFK’s assassination and I remembered the two caskets. My Englishman friend said I need to find out about Jim Garrison – so I called him – and we had a nice, 30-minute chat about the assassination, he was a nice man – he had a cameo as a judge in the movie about him, JFK. Kevin Costner played him in the movie.
The book about the two caskets:

I had a huge problem between Dallas and El Paso (Remember how I told you I would never rent from Avis or Budget again? The drive is awesome!
The Drive from Dallas to El Paso and back is BEAUTIFUL! Until I got here: And had a blowout!
At 2:51pm – The Texas Ranger looked at the blown tire and the Kia Patch Kit in the trunk and said “Good Luck with That!” and drove off – he was really nice though!
Does My Kia Come With a Spare Tire? (NO!)
“Inside your Kia Tire Mobility Kit, you’ll find:
- Tire gauge
- Necessary cables and hoses
- Tire sealant
- Filling hose
- Compressor”
I swapped out my rental car after my blowout at the Midland Airport – at 9:36pm!
I am told they can not find anyone to help me and I tell them that is not acceptable – I get this call after I had been promised a call within 45 minutes and that call never came so I took to twitter and facebook to complain – got an answer from Avis pretty quick on twitter – a DM – and a phone call.
After the really nice tow truck driver drove me the wrong way back to his shop so he could get an expense check from his boss for a trip to San Antonio (little did I know at the time WHY he was going to San Antonio! We had to wait for about an hour for his boss to show up with the check – then we were off to Midland Airport.
Remember how I mentioned San Antonio? Avis had it towed there to put a new tire on the car.
and though they promised me a partial refund on the phone because of my 7-hour wait to get another car, guess what I got in the mail instead of a check….. A bill for $2,253.81 – I explained to them I was not paying it and I told my insurance company they were not paying it either.
After talking to a rude person who said it was my fault and I was going to have to pay it I went back to twitter and facebook. Amazing how effective social media can be!
I never got that promised phone call from a supervisor. From now on I am using Hertz.

Someone else drove 700 miles to KILL the people I said HI to. There were mass shootings in both El Paso and Midland a little over a month after I had been there!

El Paso is an amazing place. I am so glad I made the trip!
I walked downtown with no fear. The park next to the border was neat! Saw a youth soccer game being played – with X and Juarez Ferris Wheel in the background – in 100 degree heat! Everyone I spoke to was nice. Holiday Inn Central was a great place to stay and they gave me late checkout because I was 6 hours late getting there. I drove around looking at the city…. Night before driving in the bridges were all lit up and Juarez was bright and the Ferris Wheel and other things were lit up…. I am going to get my passport current and go there for vacation next year. Desk Clerk said it is hopping on a Friday and Saturday night!

Ruben Garcia has sheltered migrants in El Paso for over four decades. With a crush at the border, he now needs a warehouse.
I made a $100 donation to https://annunciationhouse.org/
I spoke with 3 brick layers when I went to an Annunciation House where people stay and we discussed brick laying (he wanted me to check out the work and hire them but we agreed Murfreesboro was too far away lol) and the immigration situation. They were second generation Americans but said it is just good people trying to leave a terrible place for a better place.
When I arrived at the right Annunciation House an older gentleman and lady were out front and we spoke for a while. He thanked me for making the trip and caring and said he wish more people did. He came to America years ago as a little boy and the woman was an immigrant from Honduras and her English wasn’t that good.
